Despite our mid-Spring snowfall, Summer events are right around the corner.
Tea on the Avery House Lawn is happening on June 3rd.
Experience a traditional tea on the lush grounds of the historic Avery House in downtown Fort Collins. Sip tea and indulge in sweet and savory bites while enjoying live music and time to chat with friends, bid on tea-themed items in a silent auction, and tour the Avery House’s new clothing exhibit, The Margareth Merrill Collection. This clothing exhibit is a remarkable assemblage of one family’s clothing from 4 generations from the late-1800s to the mid-1900sed with tea ticket.
Tickets are $30 and are available online through Eventbrite, or by calling (970) 221-0533. Royal-Tea tables are available for $35/person and include a special tea blend, preferential seating, and more.
Summer at the Bee Family Centennial Farm
If you’re looking for something to do with the kids or grandkids, then you might want to consider checking out the Bee Family farm. This farm museum began as a homestead and has been maintained as an active family farm since 1894. Photographs and artifacts from the Bee Family collection document the human drama of life in rural Northern Colorado. The Bee Farm Museum invites visitors to explore, engage and have fun while learning the history and future of Larimer County agriculture in an authentic historic setting.
The museum really has something for everyone, from farm equipment, old cars, and a historic house, to WWII memorabilia, artifacts from early Larimer County businesses and much, much more. Plus they have farm animals! The babies are starting to grow up, but they’re still as cute as ever.
The museum is open to the public Fridays & Saturdays from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm from May through October (or by appointment for groups of 10 or more). Entrance fees are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors 60+, $3 for children ages 3-12, and under 3 year olds are free. (Sorry, no credit cards accepted.)
