Well, Shazam! Forgotten Fort Collins has a whole new look today. In fact, the whole network has gotten an update.
In addition to new logos, several new writers are coming on board. So if you haven’t taken the time to check out the other Fort Collins resources within the Scoop Blog Network, now would be a great time to click on over and see what they’re all about.
Feasting Fort Collins was the beginning of the network with restaurant reviews, news of foodie events, and the occasional editorial on a variety of topics. Kristin Mastre published her first Feasting article in May 2009. After seven years, Kristin is handing over the reins to Lynsey, who will begin writing this month.
Fresh Air Fort Collins is the reason Kristin has decided to pass Feasting FC on to someone new. After having several wonderful adventures out hiking in the mountains, learning how to hunt, and exploring the outdoors alone and with friends, in all kinds of weather, and in all seasons, she’s fallen in love and wants to focus solely on sharing her outdoor adventures with readers.
Though Kristin started writing Feasting FC in 2009, it wasn’t until 2012 that the Network got started. That’s when Fresh Air FC and several other blogs were added to the mix. Forgotten Fort Collins is one of those, originally written by Maggie Dennis. Farming Fort Collins is currently written by Amy Olson who does a great job of sharing practical tips and insights on growing your own food — whether it’s on a farm, in your backyard, or in planters on the patio. Growing Up Fort Collins is written by June Macon and it’s all about raising kids in the Choice City, with lots of ideas of things to do and places to see that kids will love. Fort Collins is a burgeoning music town with a growing art and theater scene as well. Anthony is taking over the Entertaining Fort Collins website this month with news and reviews of all the exciting events happening in Fort Collins. Pedal Fort Collins is the other site you’ll find me on, writing about all kinds of transportation issues — not just bicycling. And last but not least is Budding Fort Collins, which is also taking on a new writer, Jana. To be honest, I don’t partake, so that’s a site I don’t spend much time on. But for those that do, it’s a great resource that covers events, product reviews, and related political news.
The Network is also starting something brand new. It’s called Choose Your Own Fort Collins and it’s going to be a great way to discover the facets of Fort Collins that you haven’t gotten around to exploring yet. We’re not quite ready to launch, but after a year of preparation, we’re nearly there. If you want to be alerted as soon as this new adventure goes live, be sure to get on the Choose Your Own Fort Collins mailing list today.
Each writer in the network has been chosen because they’re deeply embedded in the worlds they write about. They’re experts in their little Fort Collins niche. And they have been publishing information for you to learn more about our city and to explore Fort Collins in a way you may never have before. We highlight the old and the new, the familiar and the secret gems. Our writers in the Network are essentially digital adventure guides for you. With Choose Your Own Fort Collins, our goal is to not only provide you with information and resources to read, but to also get you out there and live Fort Collins.
So here’s to new looks and new adventures!
